Hi there! I’m Lamarr.
Many know me from my career as a former Director of Housing for the government and Real Estate Investor, and so, let me share a little about my jewelry background. I owned an import/export jewelry store in Washington, D.C. for several years where I cut gemstones and designed custom jewelry for local gem connoisseurs and celebrities. My brand at the time was “Jewelry by Lamarr For You.” And with humility, I share that being pretty well-known in the gem community allowed me to be featured in the media and at local and regional hotspots throughout the United States. My boutique was also the founding partner for the National Fashion & Beauty Bazaar where contestants were adorned with rare custom jewelry from my shop.
Later, after moving to the southern part of the U.S., I expanded my Import/Export business and made numerous expeditions to Africa’s mining regions where I was initially endowed with gemstones from Gabon and Mali that expanded to precious gemstones from other regions.
Now decades later, to come full circle, having evolved from my brick-and-mortar shop called “For You” to this virtual platform called “AGem4You”, feels "blessed". And so, it is my goal to offer the world's people the finest custom gems and quality settings that honor our theme song and accentuate “the gem in you”. Just click the “Gallery” link to see our collections and select a setting and gemstone that we’ll customize for you or for your organization. And if you have your own setting, logo, or iconography in mind, it can be created for you!
We also aim to practice collective economics (Ujamaa) to help empower other entrepreneurs, along with non-profits, help make the world an even better place. So, I gladly invite non-profits to use our gemstones for your next fundraiser by clicking our "Solid As A Rock Vision" link.
I look forward to helping you find "A gem 4 you!"
Greetings! I’m Amelia, the "Singing Psychotherapist" affectionately known as
Dr. K, with the record label Dr. K’s Music Therapy.
I've always viewed each soul as a 'diamond in the rough' and so it came as no surprise when I discovered a hidden gem three decades ago, when I walked into Lamarr’s jewelry boutique. It was located across the street from Howard University, where I worked at the public television station there. I was there interviewing him for a documentary on the longest corridor of minority owned businesses in Washington, D.C., and had written and performed a song for the occasion.
Later that month, at the reception honoring the businesses, Lamarr asked me to assist him with his marketing. Shortly after that he asked for a date and wooed me with my first pair of diamond earrings. He knew what the analogy of diamonds meant to me, and so, his gift was a special reminder for me that each of us would someday smooth out our rough edges and eventually shine like a polished diamond. Two years later we were married and I had access to his entire inventory of gorgeous jewelry, which included designs based on hieroglyphics, gold nails, and healing stones. But the biggest and best gem was him!
As such, it’s been a joy to create the song “A Gem In You” and see Lamarr return to his true love and roots as a jeweler, while also allowing me to magnify the gems that God placed within each of us, along with the beautiful gems from mother earth. And as demonstrated in the Introductory music video, a homeless gentleman was given a music box as part of an effort to remind the homeless that they too have a gem within. As such, Lamarr is graciously donating a percentage of your purchase to help achieve our goal of gifting 100 music boxes featuring our theme song "A Gem In You" to the homeless to put a song in their hearts, along with a healing gemstone to uplift their spirits.
Blessed Be!
